Jason and Patti Durand

Friday night, one of my childhood best friends got married to a wonderful guy! I was honored to be a part of the bridal party and share in the joy with them. They are now honeymooning in Aruba for 12 DAYS!!! Shheeesh, what lucky dogs! Patti was a gorgeous bride and her dress was AMAZING. Here is the link to the photographers blog for a sneak peak of a few pictures. I can't wait to see them all!

The hands and feet of Jesus

This was an amazing weekend! I was honored to serve God in a wonderful way...by helping others. Our church, Westridge, was involved in a community makeover with several other churches in our area. We all came together and completed over 250 projects in Paulding and Cobb Counties.

I spent the weekend working at a wonderful family's home, the parents of a dear friend of mine, Yolanda Robinson. Yolanda is in my bible study group and her son, Elys, and Drew have become good friends. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson are the parents of 8 children and the grandparents to many more grandchildren. Mrs. Robinson suffered a stroke recently, but continues to care for most of her grandchildren at her home, and Mr. Robinson pastors a church in Savannah so he is gone a lot of the time. Their house was in desperate need of some TLC. We, a group of about 25 people, were able to paint the outside, trim and all, paint the inside, replace the flooring in the kitchen and dining room, replace plumbing, kitchen cabinets and install a new dish washer.

Amazingly, with the Lord's help I know, we were able to complete all of this in 48 hours. He sure is a great God!

Here is the video put together by our church of this weekend and a few of the different projects. Yolanda is the first person to speak in the video. I want you to be a part of this next year!

The best of friends

Drew and Turner have really become quite the pair. They have evolved into great buds, but this didn't happen over night! When we brought Drew home from the hospital, Turner would lay where ever Drew was...under the swing, next to him on the boppy, anywhere. Then Drew became very hostile towards Turner. He would sit on him, pull his tail, try to play swords with him, whatever he could do to make Turner run and hide. Now though, over the last couple of weeks, they have become friends again. Drew says Turner's name first during his bedtime prayers and has made a little bed for him next to his bed. They are so sweet! Turner really is the best dog ever!

Busy, busy, busy

Sorry for the lack of updating, I have been exhausted lately. I am so grateful for my wonderful friends, but I must say they keep me extremely busy. Here's a glimpse into the Conner's next six weeks...I am co-planning a surprise birthday party, helping throw 3 showers (two wedding, one baby), bridesmaid in a wedding, Drew has two birthday parties to attend, hosting bible study every other Wednesday, my journey group at church is painting/fixing up a house for a much deserving family and, as always, Matt and I are working full-time and I am helping with pre-school every Sunday at church. Oh, and we have a very active, never will sit down, talks non-stop 3 year old that craves our attention ever second he is awake, which is always, because he never sleeps. But, I will say, the day he doesn't want my attention will be the saddest day of my life! Luckily for us, after this world wind of weekends, Matt and I will enjoy some time in Vegas in September right before our wedding anniversary.

Sunday night we went to see Kenny Chesney in concert at Turner Field. We had a blast. He could sing to me all day!

EXPLANATION TO WHY MATT IS WEARING A SLEEVELESS SHIRT: It was an under shirt and it was pouring down rain, so needless to say, the under shirt was dry.

The shortest week of the year.

Don't you hate that a week at the beach seems like two days and a week at home seems like a month! We returned home yesterday from a fun filled family vacation to Panama City Beach. With 14 of us all together every year, we always have a blast. Drew got a hole in one playing putt-putt for the first time.

He also has mastered jumping into the swimming pool with no arm swimmies and kicking with his face in the water a short distance to the steps. He amazes me constantly at how fast he learns new things. Matt and his brother-in-law, Joel, taught him to roll down the window and wave saying "Ladies, ladies..." Yes, it was funny for a second. I do realize that I have my hands full with this little guy!

Preparing to leave for vacation is no vacation!

Have you ever tried to pack your entire house into two suitcases? Okay, it has turned into more like four suitcases, but who's counting?? Matt will be in about an hour when he has to pack them all into the car. Traveling with a child, for those of you who have none, is like preparing to survive in the wild for a month. You HAVE to take everything.

Yesterday was a busy day, aside from trying to pack for a week long trip. We went to visit my aunt and uncle that we don't see nearly enough. As soon as we pulled into the driveway Drew saw my uncle's car. He said "Look, a REAL corvette!!" He has a Power Wheel Corvette and has started to notice them on the road. I suppose I have another car fanatic on my hands. Matt loves it. Anyway, Drew was thrilled Uncle Ralph let him play in the car and he even took him for a little ride down the street.

Last night Matt and I were honored to be present at the marraige of our high school friend, Tony. He and Ashley seem so happy and I wish nothing but the best for the two of them. The wedding was beautiful and we enjoyed spending time with old friends. Note to self: One glass of wine, is really enough.
